Kiffusion and SpaceVision: space image generation with LoRA

By Khadim Hussain · · 1 min read

In short

A space-themed image generation project: a dataset of 1,964 image-caption pairs from NASA, Wallhaven and LAION-Aesthetics, auto-captioned with JoyCaption, and LoRA adapters trained on FLUX.2-klein (9B) and Kolors. The dataset has 3,300+ downloads on Hugging Face.

The dataset

Kiffusion is 1,964 image-caption pairs of space and sci-fi imagery, collected from NASA, Wallhaven and LAION-Aesthetics. Every image was captioned automatically with JoyCaption, so the captions describe composition and lighting in the detail a diffusion model needs, instead of relying on short alt text.

The LoRAs

SpaceVision is the set of LoRA adapters trained on that dataset, using SimpleTuner and Diffusers:

  • FLUX.2-klein (9B), a 38 MB adapter
  • Kolors, a 46.6 MB adapter

A LoRA trains a small set of extra weights instead of the whole model, so the adapters stay small enough to download and swap in seconds.

What got used

Download counts from Hugging Face, all time, as of October 2026:

ArtifactTypeDownloads
kiffusion-space-scifiDataset3,306
spacevision-flux2-loraLoRA for FLUX.2-klein204
spacevision-kolors-loraLoRA for Kolors66

The dataset is used far more than the adapters, which suggests that a well-captioned niche dataset is the more reusable artifact.
